Millstone&Co purchases Pridneprovsk Thermal Power Station

Millstone&Co, a private investment company, has finalized the deal of 50% Pridneprovsk Thermal Power Station equity capital purchase. The station will be put into operation before the end of the year.

Millstone&Coconsiders green energy projects development to be one of its business priorities, because Ukraine has already been acquainted with the world trend of transition to renewable energy sources. The company also highlights the fact that apart from the energy supply issues solution, Millstone&Co promotes creation of new jobs. The new power station will give over 100 new jobs to the region.

The amount of investments into the construction of a new thermal power station of general capacity – 6 MW of electric power and – 5 Gcal/hr of thermal power in Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia oblast, Ukraine, totaled around euro 20M.

The next stage of the power station development is the connection to the district heating line.

According to Andrey Bozhenko, a senior project manager of Millstone&Co, the development of thermal energy production facilities based on the biofuel is beneficial due to low cost of feedstock compared with traditional sources and that is why it makes interest for the company. “In such a country with developed agriculture as ours there are lots of by-products and the projects like this will be on the safe side regarding the biofuel”, – he said.

Millstone&Co is a private investment company that provides investment services to its clients. The company has offices in Warsaw, Krakow and Kyiv.
